The Lap of Luxury

And...we're off! As some of you have heard our trip had a welcomed unexpected start. Since we were flying standby we were unsure if we would get on a flight. Unfortunately because of high traffic to Greece, we had to change our destination city to Brussels 2 nights before our departure. On our way to the airport we got word that our first flight attempt had 15 open seats and we were #23-24 on the standby list. We were prepared to go home after a long wait. We held our breath while we listened to them slowly call the first 12 names from the standby list. To our delight, Leanne's name was called! Once again we held our breath as we waited for my name. She took heR passport to the gate agent and asked about me. She called out Henry and we leaped for joy! Well, maybe we didn't leap, but there was some calm high-fiving and huge smiles. Not only did we make our flight, but we were in First Class AND in seats next to each other. Picture the perfect flight...no turbulence, warm towels, warm nuts, a four course meal, A sleeper seat (that's right folks...we could lay down completely with our down blanket and full-sized pillow), and a Delta goodie bag of toiletries including socks, eye mask, and a shoe horn (woohoo!). Thanks to everyone who prayed that we would make it to Europe. Since your prayers worked so well, keep praying for our safety and a flight home. We love you and miss you!
