18 June: Canyoning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were suppose to be picked up to go canyoning at 1:30. We were on time, the driver was on time, but the two other guests were no where to be found. Turns out one of them was in the toilet (as they say in Switzerland). The two girls finally joined us in the van. We headed over to Outdoor Interlaken as the van started Classical\Oprea music was playing. We started giggling as it is not exactly canyoning music. Karen gave the driver a hard time and he changed the station. Once we arrived we met Sebastian who was one of our guides. He was gianormous! He reminded Leanne of the Jolly Green Giant, he was so big! He took us through all the equipment we would need. We suited up in wet suits, boots, life jackets and helmets.When Canyoning your helmet provides you with a code name in which the guides call you by during the tour. Karen became Heidi which suited her with her long braids. Leanne on the otherhand would like to say that she did NOT resemble her code name of Skunk, but thought it was cool. In canyoning we rapelled into the canyon, jumped off really big and tall rocks into the water (sometimes very narrow spaces), superman jumped into the water, swung around rocks (with a harness and rope contraption) and we slid down small rapids. It was pretty stinkin' awesome! We had a free beer, went back to shower at the hostel and had dinner. That night there was an Australian band playing at the Tent Village, so we listened and danced for a while. There were some pretty intense dancers...it was fun to watch!! Then we went to bed.
